Wisconsin cheesemakers granted recognition under the Standard may display the Real Wisconsin Cheese Curd badge on their packaging, websites, marketing materials, and trade-show signage, subject to the brand usage guidelines we provide at the time of recognition.
Badge usage is conditional on continued compliance with the six pillars. Recognition can be withdrawn at the editorial board's discretion if a maker no longer meets the pillars. Withdrawn recognition ends the right to display the badge, and continued display after withdrawal is unauthorized use.
Unauthorized use of the badge by parties that have not received editorial recognition is prohibited and may be pursued as trademark infringement. The badge design and the phrase "Real Wisconsin Cheese Curd" are claimed as common-law trademarks of Real Wisconsin Cheese Curds.
